The last 7 years has seen New York City go from a free lucky town to cruel locked-down police like state. I would call it fascist but I have no fascist state against which to compare what The “[Patriot] Act” has done to New York, ironically, or intentionally, depending on how you analyze events what the United States purportedly try to “protect” the Iraqi people from or what the United States was trying to protect us from – free association. The idea of New York City Police going up to anyone and demanding identification for no reason whatever is mot Stalinistlike “uncomfortable” – it is FRIGHTENING.

It used to be said about New York City that as long as you weren’t bothering anyone, it was the freest city on earth. I would describe how horribly in-step the populace has moved to what I can only say looks like Mussolini’s Rome, or Paris right after the world war two invasion. New York is creepy now that U.S. Army guard dogs, M-16′s, and [soldiers] in Star Wars-like SWAT outfits at every corner with a steroided angry confused presence added to the the loudspeakers (coming out of hidden speakers all over the streets) encouraging you that ,”IF YOU SEE SOMETHING, SAY SOMETHING.” Whenever one of those warnings goes off – especially in the subway – people just look around, every race, every age, and silently say nothing and peacefully ask “Who TOOK US OVER? What the hell does that mean, ‘if you see something, say something? What the hell us a a cop going to do, run in and jump on a “suspicious” looking Nike gym bag? can we just say we lost the war and get on with it?’

At the same time, escaping the actual terrorists, every day, flee the remaining rich families of Europe are buying up New York City real estate while desperately clutching bags of Euros. Do not think that just because we are losing the war at this point means that there is no war. The LOUD U.S.S. Cole Jihad was declared on the United States and by the Arab [people] while Clinton let Dick Morris be the President (literally) as Bill tried to cover up his acts of fellatio reception – I think less because he was embarrassed at all about the extra-marital “non-sex,” as to Bill, if there is no chance of pregnancy, any act is not sex. And you wonder why your daughter is such an expert at, that, Thank Bill. Sound familiar?

The reason I am endorsing with this song is that is has a minor key revenge/victory thing going on in the groove, simple as that. I have listened to this song a lot lately, looking forward to going to New York again when everyone is not frantically putting their social masks of composure back on, as they keep flying off as the cops, the army, are IN EVERYONE’S FACE AND ACCOMPLISHING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING THEREBY EXCEPT PAVING THE WAY FOR A 100% MILITARY STATE.

My grandparents are from a few blocks from where Bruce grew up. My mom’s sister has still held on there, and my family lives in the solidly blue New Jersey – because we know mafia justice is at least a code – the “justice” under the last eight years in the United States from an old, out-of-touch Supreme Court, an underpaid, overworked, careered and BOUGHT OFF do nothing Congress (I worked as a lawyer for Congress and I know what I am speaking about) has been in the hands of the man known as George Walker Bush – one scary dude. My wife and I moved to Princeton to escape the police state-like nature of Manhattan, and we are spending the night in Washington Tuesday to be *there* when either John or Barack is elected in the pure joy of Bush being finally at the sword of Damocles – I feel 25% of the nation on its knees praying: no emergencies before the election. let us elect Obama, hold our breaths until January 21, but in the meantime – when the first announcer says, “We can safely report that enough precincts from Pennsylvania have been counted and that Senator Barack Hussein is the President -elect of the United States of America” this Bruce Springsteen song will be rocked to the heavens.
